Motivation moved Mountains. Compassion condensed in the Arabian Desert.

Both emotive elements, focussed on Primary Education for children in The Canara, India.

Born thus, from the bosom of Motivation and bred in the lap of Compassion, KCWA completed a decade in 1998. In the years, membership swelled with subscriptions, while others toiled with thought and time. In the decade, KCWA - the community kid of Kuwait had streamed forth like a river, towards its solemn perspective in The Canara, India.

777 Members stronger, KCWA stands proud amidst it’s people and it’s purpose, having pioneered a new kind of clear thinking, which crystallized into the following agenda:

KCWA POOR CHILDREN’S EDUCATION FUND

Rs. 20 Lakhs Fund has been established.

120 Fixed Deposits are spread around The Canara, South Karnataka, India.

1000 Primary School children annually receive school books, uniforms and utilities.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Member’s children are eligible for several Annual Awards via Lucky Lots.

Additionally, Merit scholarships are managed for benevolent donors from the community.

MORTUARY BENEFIT

A Benefit of KD 250/- is established to alleviate the trauma of documenting the death and dispatching the human remains of deceased KCWA members to India.

Additionally, KCWA assists and advises the family / kin in the documentation / dispatch process. Obituaries and Liturgical services are also arranged.

EXTRA CURRICULAR

KCWA co-ordinates Cultural and Sports activities like Cricket and Football tournaments. The annual family jumbo picnic comprising of more than 1000 persons, Free Christmas Tree celebration for children and the forthcoming first time "Drawing & Singing" competition are all forums created to communicate the motto of the Association to the community. The extra curricular activities are not the purpose, but a means to an End.

DEDICATED COMPUTER SCHOOL FOR THE DISABLED

First of it’s kind project, launched in liaison with St. Agnes Special School, (SASS) Mangalore, India to document a decade of KCWA perseverance.

4 Computers, other Peripherals and utilities had been installed.

30 Physically disabled students currently train at the school.

The 1st disabled student is now the first paid Computer instructor of the school.

7 Computer trained Disabled students from the school secured equal opportunity employment in government and Financial institutions AND a 2nd chance in Life.

COMPUTER SCHOOL BUILDING

Our achievements awakened us to the tremendous potentials of our pioneering thought. To enhance the utility of KCWA / SASS Computer School for the Disabled, it was critical to enable out-station disabled students avail the facility AND provide for visiting specialist teachers willing to contribute to community service.

Board and Lodge became the need of the hour.

Hence KCWA – Kuwait has embarked upon providing a purpose oriented school building. A sum of Rs. 28 Lakhs is committed and the building is due for completion in July 1999. Community participation is crucial to the project. Generosity is accepted with gratitude.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR 1999 TO 2001

On 9th April 1999, the General Body elected New Executive Committee headed by Mr. Felix Saldanha as the President for 1999 to 2001.

The New Executive Committee has taken upon itself to muster 1000 members as MAN migrates to the next millenium.
